Senior Front-end Developer

This role is a senior developer role working with a product owner and a chapter lead in an agile software development environment. You will be working closely with back-end and full-stack developers, and UI/UX designers, to create beautifully crafted reusable front-end components to deliver a reliable, maintainable, and consistent web experience. Your work will have a direct impact on brand consistency and the UX of our customers.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

• Responsibility for improvements to our existing platform, continuously improving the experience for our users whether internal or external.
• Collaboration with members of the wider team on new features and new products, with an eye on UI and UX.
• Writing highly functional front-end code and maintainable style-sheets.
• Peer review of code and maintain coding standards.

To do well in this role, we think you’ll need: 

• High levels of initiative, motivation and enthusiasm about your craft, excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine love of technical challenges.
• High levels of experience (more than three years) with semantic HTML, SCSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS or, ideally, VueJS.
• An eye and enthusiasm for layout aesthetics, enthusiasm to stay up to date with the latest UI and design trends, and sharing your ideas and learning with your colleagues.
• Experience with collaborative interface design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
• A knack for debugging and testing.
• Development experience with APIs and knowledge about PHP frameworks such as Silverstripe or Symfony.
• The willingness to take and give honest feedback, reflect and grow as a result with high levels of self-awareness and a growth mind-set.
