We work with thousands of businesses and their advisors throughout New Zealand and are looking to expand the reach of our technology platform across the tax and business teams with large corporates and national accounting firms and that of their clients. As one of our new Client Directors, you will likely have a background at a national accounting firm and/or within professional services.

As a Client Director, you will work with other committed relationship owners and our software development team to come up with new and innovative solutions to help our clients work smarter.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Building and maintaining authentic, profitable relationships with key client segments throughout New Zealand and the people within them. This will be primarily focussed on national accounting firms and/or large corporate taxpayers.
  • Leading the drive to make our products and software better and working with our software development team to make this happen efficiently (including testing).
  • Understanding key client individual needs and competitive pressures and addressing these, including conducting business reviews using our CRM.
  • Inputting into campaigns that are designed to expand our customer base by providing “surprise and delight” to key customer segments.

To do well in this role, we think you’ll need: 

  • A genuine love of connecting and helping people with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and an obsession with client satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a personable manner, predisposition for teamwork and adaptability.
  • A strong creative bent and desire to engage in software product development.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a business development role or a related field such as software, tax or accounting. An accounting or professional services background would be preferred but is not essential.
  • A high level of proficiency with HubSpot (or a similar CRM) as well as the ability (or desire to learn how) to engage in software development.
  • The willingness to take and give honest feedback, reflect and grow as a result with high levels of self-awareness and a growth mindset.
  • A commitment to the wider vision and mission of Tax Traders, an excellent alignment with our culture and DNA, and a good level of comfort with change.
  • A desire to bring your whole self to work and embrace and contribute to the culture of the organisation.
